I had the honour of helping a homeless guy last night. I knew as I was walking in the door of the chip shop, and he was sat outside, that I was meant to help him. So we got him something to eat and drink and then I sat and listened to him for a while. Bless him the food didn't seem to touch the sides and then his story came out. He split up with his girlfriend and found himself homeless three months ago. I know he was drinking because I could smell it. He went on to tell me he couldn't get a room in a hostel there weren't any spaces. He also showed me his arms where he is self harming and his face where someone had hit him in the face whilst trying to sleep! I know that I did all that I was meant to do last night, but my heart has compassion for this young man, so I have been praying that God will send others today to help him so that he isn't lost.
